Sound Familiar?

We have more inventory than ever—and we’re still stocking out.

Our buyers don’t trust the ERP, so they rely on tribal knowledge, workarounds and experience.

Too much purchasing knowledge lives with one experienced person. If they leave, we have a serious problem.

We want to grow, add locations or increase capacity—but our inventory and supply-chain processes aren’t ready.

We cannot afford any more missed shipments - we need this to work NOW

Committed to Measurable Impact

Inventory problems rarely come from one bad number or one poor decision. They develop when purchasing processes, ERP logic, operational realities and financial priorities stop working together.

That’s where Pines Optimization comes in.

Measurable Inventory Impact
Christine Nolan, President
Palm Tree with Coconut Gears

President Christine Nolan founded Pines Optimization, LLC. in March 2025

She brings more than 15 years of experience working with Fortune 500 and private equity-backed manufacturers and distributors, including MRO and high-volume environments.

The mission of Pines Optimization is to help inventory-intensive businesses align inventory, purchasing and ERP systems so they can reduce excess, improve availability and make consistent, financially sound decisions.

Christine’s approach combines detailed analysis with practical implementation. She assesses the full inventory—not just a sample—then works alongside leadership, buyers, planners and operations teams to understand how decisions are actually being made. Together, they’ll turn that knowledge into clear rules, usable processes and system settings the team can trust.

Smaller companies face complex operational problems. But they may not need—or be able to justify—a full-time person dedicated to solving them.

Smaller manufacturers and distributors often face the same inventory, purchasing and process challenges as much larger organizations. What they may not have is the need, budget or resources for a full-time continuous improvement or inventory-management leader.

That doesn’t mean they should have to live with problems like excess inventory, recurring stockouts, reactive purchasing or systems they can’t trust.

Christine founded Pines Optimization to make this experience accessible through fractional and project-based engagements. She steps in when the need is greatest, helps the business diagnose and solve the right problems, coaches the team through implementation and builds internal capability without requiring another full-time leadership position.

She genuinely believes smaller manufacturers and distributors can build disciplined, scalable operating systems. They may simply need the right expertise, structure and support to get there.

That’s the work Christine is passionate about—and where she knows she can make a meaningful difference.

Approach to Solving Internal Supply Chain Problems

Calmly Follow The Process

We follow a phased path:

  • Diagnose
Assess every SKU and identify the data, process and system gaps driving poor results.

  • Stabilize
Implement practical strategies for the highest-impact parts and purchasing decisions.

  • Scale
Extend the proven framework across products, teams and locations within existing ERP.

  • Optimize
Give every part a defined strategy and help leadership manage performance by exception.

We do not try to fix everything at once. We create a plan for every part (PFEP). It is a system that scales—and we make sure the team can operate it independently.

What Makes the Work Different?

  • Practical, not theoretical: Recommendations are designed for the realities of the operation.

  • System-focused, not software-led: The priority is making inventory, purchasing and the ERP work together.

  • Collaborative, not prescriptive: The team’s knowledge becomes part of the solution.

  • Implementation-oriented: The engagement does not end with a report or presentation.

  • Built for internal ownership: The goal is a system the client’s team understands, trusts and can sustain.

  • Adaptable: We work in heavy industrial customized product and high volume distribution environments.

What Customers Are Saying:

“Christine’s analysis gave us visibility into our inventory that we did not previously have and identified approximately $5 million (30%) in excess and obsolete stock.  She translated her understanding of our data and how our team works into actionable inventory strategies across our US and European warehouses, a sustainable SKU-level planning tool, and a significantly faster freight-quoting process for spare parts quotes. I would recommend Christine to manufacturers looking for measurable improvements in inventory, working capital, and operational efficiency.”
